Rattlers seize weekend split in Olds

The Medicine Hat College Rattlers earned a weekend split on the road, defeating the Olds College Broncos 87-80 at the Ralph Klein Centre on Saturday.

Kace Archuleta paced the Rattlers (2-10) with 15 points to go with four steals and three rebounds, as he was one of five Medicine Hat players to score in double figures. Cooper Ward added 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Fred Kabore, Aiden Gripp and Noah Neilsen each had 10 points; Kabore's was a double-double as he also posted 12 rebounds and eight assists. 

Logan Bennett led all scorers with 28 points, including an eight-of-15 mark from three-point range, while Gurech Gurech added 26 points, seven rebounds and three assists, and Corbin MacMillan came off the bench to post a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Broncos (4-8).

Next up, the Rattlers will head home to welcome the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings while the Broncos will host the Ambrose University Lions. Both contests are slated for 8 p.m. starts, and both will be watchable on ACACTV.ca, as well as on TELUS OptikTV channel 1998.
