Ooks Conquer Rustlers

On Saturday night, the Ooks played the Lakeland Rustlers at the NAIT gymnasium.

The Ooks managed to get the lead early in the first quarter with incredible outside shots from number nine Yassir Abdullahi. With the Ooks leading the game 15-6, the Rustlers called their first time out of the game. As the quarter continued, the Ooks shut down the Rustlers' attempts to close the gap. Ooks's offence was led by Griffin Lorenz, who scored his 1000 ACAC point.  

Ooks led the game 21-11 after the first.

The Rustlers' offence had gained momentum as they began to quickly close the point gap with great drives from number fifteen Jordan Simpson while holding the Ooks' offence to only one point compared to their ten. However, Ooks called a time-out and started to gain momentum again, holding onto their lead with fantastic shooting from number one Griffin Lorenz. 

Ooks led the game 42-27 after the second.

Ooks started out the quarter strong, continuing to grow their lead as their ball movement allowed them to break through the Rustlers' defence. But the Rustlers continued to battle and slowly closed the point gap that the Ooks had developed with fantastic defensive steals, allowing them to drive to the hoop. 

Ooks led the game 60-57 after the third. 

Early in the fourth, the Rustlers managed to tie the game up. However, it didn't last long before the Ooks yet again began to create some distance with great shots from number eight Owen Weaver. The Rustlers were struggling defensively. However, their offence was starting to pick up, and they were within reach of taking the lead with the help of outside shots from number nine Bahaeddin Salma. But it wasn't enough, and the Ooks held their lead, winning the game 76-70
