St. Mary's Lightning Secure Win Against Resilient Ambrose Lions in Thrilling Showdown at the Lions' Den

In an electrifying matchup that ignited the Ambrose Gym with basketball fervour, the Ambrose Lions hosted a challenging face-off against the St. Mary's Lightning. Despite the tough competition, the Lions' home-court advantage added an electric atmosphere to the game.

From the onset, it was evident that both teams came prepared for an intense battle. The Lions, backed by their passionate home crowd, fought hard against the St. Mary's Lightning, who displayed their offensive prowess with a strong first quarter, securing a 30-23 lead.

Though the Lightning maintained their momentum throughout the game, the Lions didn't falter in their determination. Despite facing a deficit, the Lions showcased their resilience, rallying their efforts and exhibiting admirable plays to keep the game competitive.

Throughout the second and third quarters, the Lightning managed to extend their lead, showcasing their depth and consistency. However, the Lions continued to fiercely contest every possession, rallying behind the support of their home fans. Despite the scoreboard reflecting a lead for St. Mary's, the Lions' spirit remained unyielding.

In the final quarter, the Lions dug deep, displaying their grit and fighting spirit until the very end. While the Lightning ultimately secured the win with a final score of 108-82, it was evident that the Lions left everything on the court. Their determination and resilience, especially on their home turf, earned them admiration and respect from the crowd.

7 Brock Dewsbery from the Lightning had a great game with 30 points followed closely behind with Johnpaul Okodua with 26 points. The Lions fought hard as a team and Wisdom Sunday was a best on the boards with 16 rebounds and Guilherme Lacerda Ferreira had 18 points. 

The Lions look ahead to next semester where their first game back is against SAIT in January.
