Calgary, Alberta – Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023: BC Clippers 80 at SAIT Trojans 97

Five Trojans scored in double figures to lead the SAIT Trojans men's basketball team to a 97-80 win over the BC Clippers on Saturday, giving them a much-needed win before the break and improving their record to 8-2 on the year.

After the loss, BC sits at 6-3.

Hungry for revenge after last night's loss, SAIT came out looking unstoppable. Down 5-4, the Trojans scored 24 straight points to give them a 28-5 lead in the first eight minutes. #24 Kuol Kuol led the charge, providing 11 points in the quarter. #6 Amon Walker and #8 Tutu Akol each added five from the bench and the Trojans had a massive 35-7 lead after 10 minutes.

BC outscored SAIT by 11 the rest of the way, but it didn't matter after the Trojans built such a large lead after their first-quarter explosion.

After surpassing 1000 points in his SAIT career last night, #0 Marcus Masters kept the momentum going, scoring 15 points and adding six boards and three assists. He shot 3/6 from three with only one turnover.

#6 Amon Walker and #8 Tutu Akol scored 35 points coming off the bench, with 17 and 18 respectively. They led the Trojans in scoring.

#5 Jaden Matthews won SAIT's Player of the Game, as he led the Trojans in the third quarter to solidify the win. His seven points, assist and two steals in the third helped win them the quarter 25-14.

The Trojans will be back after the break on Jan. 12, travelling to Ambrose University to face the Lions for the first time this year.

BC will head to St. Mary's, also on Jan. 12, to look to get back into the win column after the winter break.
