Lakeland Wins in Comeback

Calgary, AB - Lakeland (92) at Ambrose (70)

In a stunning comeback, Lakeland College rallied against Ambrose University to secure a 92-70 victory in an intense men's basketball showdown.

Ambrose University initiated the game with a strong offensive push, seizing an early lead in the first quarter with a score of 30 points against Lakeland College's 22. However, the tables turned swiftly in the second quarter as Lakeland College tightened their defence and unleashed a formidable offensive display, outscoring Ambrose University by a significant margin. This surge allowed Lakeland College to take a 47-39 lead heading into halftime.

The momentum continued to favour Lakeland College in the third quarter as they sustained their high level of play, extending their lead further to 64-54 by the end of the quarter.

In the final quarter, Lakeland outscored the Lions 28-16 in the last quarter, ultimately securing an impressive 92-70 victory.

Lakeland had all of the starters securing double-digit points. Mateja Vukic was the playmaker for the Lions with 6 steals. Guilherme Lacerda Ferreira had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. 

The Lions look ahead to next weekend when they take on STMU.
