Rustlers get to .500 with win over King's

Despite a stern effort from the visitors, Lakeland men's basketball was able to get back to a .500 record.

The Rustlers hosted the Kings Eagles after defeating them in Edmonton the night before. While Lakeland led after the first quarter, the Eagles were able to stay within a few possessions of the lead for the majority of the contest. Only in the dying minutes were the Rustlers able to break away with a few key stops.

All five Lakeland starters scored in double digits, while Cornelius Mingo Jr. had a game high 24 for the Eagles. The win pushes the Rustlers to 2-2, while Kings remains winless.

Next for the Rustlers is a south division homestand, starting with briercrest on Friday.
