Men's Basketball Huskies overcome slow start to top Rattlers

Fort McMurray, Alta. (November 3, 2023) - Medicine Hat College Rattlers 82 Keyano Huskies 92

In a game with too many lead changes to count, the Keyano Huskies Men's Basketball team got the most important one - the last one - as they topped the Medicine Hat College Rattlers 92-82 in ACAC action Friday at the Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre. 

Trailing by five after one quarter, the Huskies swung back momentum to lead by three at the half. After going down by seven through three quarters, they utilized a 33-16 fourth quarter to secure the victory by a 10-point margin. 

DJ Haynes and Omeechi Williams each dropped 27 points while  Nahshon Hurst and Keenan Miller also finish in double digits. 

The Huskies hsot 48.5 percent (32-for-66) from the field, making nine three-point shots and 19 of 24 attempted free throws. The Rattlers were right there with the Huskies, shooting 47.1 percent (32-for-68) from the field. However they only made six three-point shots and 12 free throws. 

Kieran Isnor led a quartet of Rattlers in double digits with 18 points, followed closely by Ethan Robinson (17) and Jordan Biggar (16). Kace Archuleta had 10 points off the bench to round out the quartet. 

The Rattlers will now continue on to face the Lakeland College Rustlers while the Huskies will stay at home to host the Briercrest Clippers Saturday night.
