Wolves Complete their Sweep of the Eagles in their Home Opening Weekend

Second game for this weekend's double header with NWP Wolves vs. Kings Eagles. Eagles take a quick lead but NWP battles back with a 3 pointer from Wolves #9 Aaron Ungprasert. At 4:30 score is 9-7 for the Kings. Wolves battle back and after two made free throws from NWP's #8 Christian Liwanag score is 16-11 for the Kings. End of the first quarter see the King's lead 22-13.

Second quarter and the Wolves work to bring the scoring back. Wolves get the first 2 points and the Kings Coach Jay Ouellette calls a time out. Nice layup from Kings #13 and the Kings make it 27-23 at 5:55. Both teams race to score but are unable to get the points. Eagles call another time out at 4:45. Another point for Kings #13 Cornelius Mingo Jr. With 2 from NWP's #08 Christian Liwanag Wolves trail by 2. Score is 29-27 for the Eagles. NWP takes the lead 33-32 with 1:30 remaining in this quarter. 3 pointer from NWP's #8 Chris Liwanag. Eagles score and tie it up at 38-38, NWP calls a time out. 13 seconds remain in this intense quarter.  NWP's #3 Tony Kibonge makes a nice 3 pointer, second half ends 41-38 for NWP.

Third quarter Wolves take the lead 45-38 at 8:35. NWP's #20 Manny Iloka makes the basket. Foul on Eagles and they decide to all a time out. 7:48 remaining in this quarter, score is 49-38 for NWP. Wolves #8 Christian Liwanag makes it 52-44 for NWP. NWP gets a foul and Eagles #09 Jonathan Barwegen gets one out of two on the free throw. Wolves stay ahead of the Eagles 56-50 with 3:36 remaining. NWP's #7 Daniel Zandbergen hustles through the crowd at the net for 2 points. 3 pointer for Eagles #8 Josh Fraser. Wolves remain in the lead 60-53 with just under a minute left. End of the third NWP lead 62-57.

Fourth quarter action continues. Wolves maintain a 10 point lead 67-57 with 7 minutes remaining in this game. NWP's #3 Toni Kibonge picks up a steal and makes it 69-57 for the Wolves. Eagles #7 Brock Stupar with a 3 point shot and the Wolves call a time out. Wolves remain ahead 73-62 at 3:56 remaining. Wolves continue their lead 78-65 with time running out. Nice 3 pointer for Eagles #1 Camerson Knisely. 58 seconds remain score is 78-68 for NWP. Eagles push hard to tie it up, but NWP's #9 Aaron Ungprasert gets a 3 pointer at a crucial point. Wolves sweep their home opening weekend with a score of 81-71.
