Ooks Lose Close Battle to Kings

Friday night, the NAIT Ooks tipped off against the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings at the NAIT gymnasium. After a close battle between the Ooks and Kings, the Kings won 73-63.

In the first quarter, the Ooks took the lead early, dominating the net offensively with jump-shots from number seven, Griffin Lorenz. The Kings were struggling to gain momentum and called a timeout. The Kings had finally started to progress with massive offensive plays by number eight Payton Baltzer and drives by number seven Bernardo Moller. However, the Ooks managed to hold onto the lead.

Ooks lead 23-20 after the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the Kings were able to take the lead with huge plays by number fourteen, Nauro Barrozo Junior. The Ooks found themselves in foul trouble. It wasn't long before the Ooks took the lead back with incredible offensive plays by number seven Griffin Lorenz and number three Dante Dinter. The game was neck and neck, with neither team letting the other get a lead.

At halftime, the score was tied 38-38 between the Ooks and Kings.

After halftime, neither team was giving either any room. The Ooks were making fantastic offensive plays from number four Benjamin Kamba and six Luca Korosec. Both teams had found themselves in foul trouble late in the quarter. The Kings managed to get the lead with great drives from number eleven, Cole Wicker.

The Kings lead the game 55-54 after the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, the Kings finally began to create a lead as the Ooks' defence was struggling to guard the drives to the net. The Ooks struggled offensively, and the Kings continued to grow their lead. The Ooks called a timeout to regroup and shift the momentum. It wasn't long before the momentum went for the Ooks with jump shots from number seven Griffin Lorenz and nine Yasser Abdullahi. Yet the Kings managed to hold the lead, winning the game.

The Kings won the game 73 -63.

The players of the game were number six, Luka Korosec, from the Ooks and number twelve, Eduardo Crespo, from the Kings.
