close game sees Lions take down the Rattlers

The Ambrose Lions headed into the Snake Pit to take on the Rattlers in a Thursday night game. Both teams came out of the gate quickly and looked to put up points early. A very even first quarter saw 4 lead changes and both teams hitting in key moments. The Lions started to heat up from beyond the arc and were able to rack up points quickly, while the Rattlers looked to work the ball inside. This even play continued into the second quarter with neither team giving an inch. The Rattlers were unable to keep the Lions in check on defence as they were able to find open shots and kill any momentum the Rattlers gained. At the Half the Lions were up 53-49.

The second half was once again a very even match but neither team looked to be in control on their defensive end. Fouls started to mount on both side as the bench looked to try and get some points while starters rested. As the game moved into the final frame, both teams seemed to go cold as defence started to become a prominence. Neither squad could seem to score when they needed it and the Lions continued to hold a lead as the time on the clock ticked away. The Rattlers comeback fell short as the visitors were able to capture a 90-84 win with the help of some late free-throws.
