MBB| Kodiaks Prevail in Intense Nail-biting Finish to Push to 6-0 Over the NAIT Ooks

The Kodiaks looked to go 6-0 in their reign of terror as the #2 team in the north NAIT Ooks looked to ruin their fun in their visit to enemy territory.

The Ooks and Kodiaks wasted no time getting right down to business creating havoc all over the court trying to get the early jump on one another. However, only the Kodiaks were able to maintain the aggression throughout the entirety of the quarter as Kodiaks Filip Karanovic picked up 5 points and 3 assists through 10 minutes of play putting the Kodiaks up 22-10 after the 1st.

Kodiaks #21 Declan Peterson was the man to keep an eye on in the 2nd as he was a constant danger in the paint using his 6'10" stature to his advantage giving him 6 points in the quarter to keep NAIT chasing as the Kodiaks were able to hang on to a 39-30 lead at the half.

The Ooks were looking to make a comeback coming into the 2nd half as they quickly tried to get some points on the board to close the gap on the Kodiaks outscoring them 19-17 in the quarter but continued to fall short as the Kodiaks were able to tighten up and hold a 56-49 lead heading into the 4th quarter.

The Ooks turned on the boosters in the 4th catching up to the Kodiaks and tying the game up at 62 a piece halfway through the quarter as NAIT #7 Griffin Lorenz picked up 4 crucial points early in the quarter to help the Ooks gain some traction, but it didn't take long for the Kodiaks to jump back out in front to put some room between them and the Ooks to try and put the game away. The Kodiaks were able to put a stop to a late push by NAIT and were able to hold on to the lead in an intense finish giving the Kodiaks the 72-69 victory.
