Broncos knock off the Lethbridge Kodiaks at home

Olds, AB 

Olds College Broncos win over the Lethbridge Kodiaks with a score of 80-73 on November 27, 2021 at the Ralph Klein Centre. 

The Kodiaks had a slow start to the game only scoring 11 points in the first 10 minutes. Jack-Henry Fox-Grey contributed 4 of those points while Christopher Schlauwitz contributed 3 points and some strong rebounds. The Broncos worked hard with Lake Del Mar, Mobin Ali and Adrian Deere all contributing offensively and defensively.  At the end of the first quarter the Broncos lead the Kodiaks with a score of 11-19.

The second quarter was the highest scoring quarter for the Olds College Broncos. Again Lake Del Mar is a big contributor to the Broncos along with Austin Nzige-Nybook and Luke Baker.. The Kodiaks also had a strong quarter again with Christopher Schaluwitz as a main scorer along with Tomo Owens and Timothy McMahon. At the end of the second quarter and leading into halftime the Broncos led over the Kodiaks 47-30. 

The Kodiaks came into the third quarter strong and ready to play. Orin Porter and Timothy McMahon each played a strong 9 minutes and combined scored 15 of the Kodiaks 20 points. The Broncos played competitively and won the rebounding battle over the Kodiaks. At the end of the third quarter the Broncos still led over Lethbridge with a score of 65-50. 

The final 10 minutes was the strongest for the Kodaiks as they scored 23 points of their overall 73. While the Broncos had their lowest scoring quarter they were still able to respond defensively and win by 7 points. 

The player of the game for Lethbridge was number 8, Christopher Schlauwitz and the player of the game for the Broncos was number 23, Austin Nzige-Nyabook.

Catch the Broncos in the new year when they travel to Briercrest on January 14 and 15, 2021 and then back at home on January 22, 2021 as they take on the St.Mary's Lighting.
