Clippers sweep Weekend in Medicine Hat

The Briercrest Clippers were in the Snake Pit for the second time in as many days to take on the Medicine Hat College Rattlers. Following a 20 Point loss the night before, the Rattlers looked to change the result and come back to split the weekend. They would need to really find something early as the first quarter from the night before was absolutely dominated by the Clippers. The Game started with a miss on both ends and no points through the first minute of play. The Rattlers opened the scoring with two free throws at the 2 minute mark. the Clippers hit back to back 3's and took a 6-4 lead. the Rattlers tied it at 6 in a very defensive battle. Hitting another 3 the Clippers took a 3 point lead, getting all their points beyond the arc. The Rattlers got a single point hitting on a Technical foul from Nelka Edoa. The Clippers stayed hot from beyond the arc going up 14-7 before the Rattlers could respond. Medicine Hat hit 2 getting to the line but still trailed as the quarter moved into the late stages. They extended late when Riley Seaborn hit 2 3's late and went up 22-13 at the break.

The Rattlers came out hard and scored quickly along with 2 stops on the defensive end. The Rattlers Battled back to get within 4 20-24 before a Kieron Burgess take put them only down my 2. The teams battled in a very even contest through the whole second quarter with both teams coring and missing at an equal rate. The clippers held an advantage mainly due to 3 pointers made. With 2 mintues left in the quarter, the Clippers were up 37-30 when Nelka Edoa kicked a Rattler and was ejected from the game. The Teams traded baskets as the half came to a close, the Rattlers trailed by 5 down 39-34.

The third quarter started with the clippers adding to their lead. up 45-34 they held a decent advantage. They continued to build this advantage as the Rattlers went cold on offence until Zavier Croft got to the line to start the Rattlers back up. This was not enough as the Clippers continued to hold off the Rattlers and were able to answer any Rattler points on their return trip down the court. Medicine Hat needed to get some stops in order to get back into the game. With 3 minutes left in the quarter, the Clippers lead 59-38 and the Rattlers continued to struggle offensively. They fell behind by 26, down 40-66 after failing to find the basket. The quarter ended and the Rattlers still had a huge deficit to overcome.

The fourth quarter started very fast with the Rattler finally finding the basket early in the quarter. They still trailed 50-69 and called a time out in an effort to come back to at least make it a game. The Rattlers chipped away and came back to trail 60-73 before another Clippers 3 broke them out of their slump . they were again able to pull away again when 2 Rattlers fouled out with over 5 minutes remaining in the game. As the clock passed 5 minutes the score read 81-62 clippers. The teams continued to battle with little change in score. The Rattlers made up a small amount of ground down 75-90 with 1:30 left on the clock. the Rattlers played hard right till the final whistle but fell 90-79
