Ooks sweep battle of the birds

EDMONTON, Alta. - The NAIT Ooks men's basketball team defeated the King's Eagles 93-76 on Saturday night in the NAIT Gymnasium.

The battle of the birds was a tight one through the first three quarters. NAIT maintained a small lead for most of the game, but the Eagles never went away. It wasn't until the fourth quarter when the Ooks pulled away, as they outscored the King's 28-18. NAIT was led once again by Sean-Michael Clancey who put up 30 points, which is two better than his league leading 28 points per game.

"We were pretty disappointed with our effort on Friday night. We came into tonight's contest with a focus on competing at a much higher level, and the effort was closer to what we expect," said Ooks head coach Slav Kornik. "Hopefully, it's a learning lesson for us, and we're ready to compete against a very tough Keyano team next week."
