The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Matthew Travaglini of the SAIT Trojans as a 2024 inductee into the ACAC Hall of Fame in the Athlete category.

Matthew Travaglini's remarkable achievements not only showcase exceptional athletic abilities but also a dedication to academic excellence. As a Geomatics Engineering Technology graduate, he exemplifies the ideal of a student-athlete, balancing his academic pursuits with outstanding athletic performance.

Throughout his tenure in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference, Matthew consistently demonstrated a mastery of cross-country running and indoor track events, earning multiple individual and team championships. His dominance on the field is unparalleled, marked by consecutive victories in both the ACAC and CCAA championships. Notably, his record-setting performance in the CCAA Men’s Individual XC Running event remains unmatched, standing as the fastest gold medal-winning time in over two decades.

Matthew's unparalleled success extends beyond individual achievements; he maintained an impressive streak, never losing a Grand Prix/ACAC Championship/CCAA Championship cross country race in two years. Beyond his athletic achievements, Matthew exemplifies sportsmanship, leadership, and resilience. He embodies the values of integrity and perseverance, inspiring teammates and competitors alike.
