HONOURED ATHLETE INDUCTEE

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Montana Romeril of the St. Mary's Lightning as a 2024 inductee into the ACAC Hall of Fame in the Athlete category.

Montana Romeril's journey through the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference stands as a testament to resilience, determination, and unyielding dedication. As a standout athlete at St. Mary's University, Montana left an unforgettable mark on the Women’s Basketball program, transforming it from a novice endeavor into a powerhouse of success.

Arriving at St. Mary's when the program was still in its infancy, Montana faced the challenge of building something from the ground up. Instead, she embraced each opportunity with unwavering resolve, propelling herself and her team to unprecedented heights.

During her four-year tenure with the Lightning, Montana's impact reverberated throughout the conference. She showcased her exceptional talent on the court, earning numerous accolades including four-time ACAC 1st team all-conference player and the prestigious distinction of being named a CCAA All Canadian. Her leadership and skill were instrumental in securing the ACAC Gold Medal in 2017-2018, a crowning achievement for both her and the program.

Beyond her individual accomplishments, Montana's legacy at St. Mary's extends far beyond the statistics and awards. She epitomizes the essence of a true student-athlete, excelling not only on the court but also in the classroom. Her dedication to academic excellence, coupled with her commitment to her sport, serves as an inspiration to all who follow in her footsteps.

Montana's impact on the St. Mary's Women’s Basketball program continues to echo long after her departure. Her influence transcends the confines of the court, shaping the culture of the program and instilling a legacy of perseverance and determination.
