In the annals of Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) history, there are teams whose achievements transcend the game, leaving an indelible mark on the sport. Such is the case with the Concordia University of Edmonton Women’s Basketball team of the 2004-2005 season. Led by the visionary coaching duo of Head Coach Scott Edwards and Assistant Coach Karla Karch, this team epitomized excellence on and off the court.

Under their guidance, the Thunder squad boasted a formidable lineup, featuring talented athletes such as Amber Smart, Ashley Nealon, and Leanne Barrett, among others. Their collective proficiencies propelled the team to unprecedented heights, clinching both the CCAA and ACAC Women’s Basketball Championships in a season marked by sheer dominance.

Their achievements speak volumes – from individual accolades like CCAA All-Canadian honors for Amber Smart to collective triumphs like their undefeated record and their remarkable run in the national tournament. But beyond the trophies and titles, it was the spirit of unity, determination, and unwavering commitment that defined this team.
