HONOURED COACH INDUCTEE

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is thrilled to announce Ken Babey of the SAIT Trojans as a 2024 inductee into the ACAC Hall of Fame in the Coach category.

With an illustrious coaching career spanning 27 years from 1987/88 to 2013/14, Ken Babey's impact on the Trojans and Canadian post-secondary hockey is unparalleled. Throughout his tenure, Babey earned a remarkable seven ACAC Men’s Hockey Coach of the Year awards, showcasing his consistent excellence and commitment to the sport.

Ken Babey's coaching accomplishments stand as a testament to his knowledge on the ice. Under his guidance, the SAIT Trojans clinched an impressive nine ACAC titles (1997, 2000, 2002, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2014) and secured a coveted CCAA title in 2000. Babey's influence extends beyond the rink, having served as the SAIT Athletic Director for 17 years, shaping the overall athletic program. His exceptional leadership has left an indelible mark, evident not only in the numerous accolades but also in the countless lives he has touched throughout his distinguished career.

In addition to his coaching accolades, Ken Babey's contributions to hockey have been recognized with inductions into the Alberta Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015 and the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame in 2020.

As he steps into the ACAC Hall of Fame, Ken Babey's legacy shines brightly, illuminating the path for future generations of coaches and athletes in the realm of collegiate hockey.
