ACAC Hall of Fame Builder Inductee: Gregg Meropoulis

HONOURED BUILDER INDUCTEE

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is thrilled to announce Gregg Meropoulis of the NAIT Ooks as a 2024 inductee into the ACAC Hall of Fame in the Builder category.

Gregg's profound impact on the ACAC spans from 1979 when he joined NAIT until his retirement in 2017. His extensive service within the ACAC included roles as an executive member, committee member, sport convenor, and ultimately, as the ACAC President. Notably, Gregg's most significant contribution lies in hosting ACAC championships across various sports. As the NAIT Athletic Director, he consistently spearheaded successful bids to host championships, earning NAIT a well-deserved reputation as a first-class host within the ACAC.

Meropoulis embarked on his career at NAIT in 1979 as an outdoor education instructor and women's basketball coach. For two decades, he coached the NAIT women's basketball team before transitioning into key leadership positions within Athletics. Despite evolving titles, Gregg remained consistently engaged in leadership roles not only at the ACAC level but also within NAIT and the CCAA.

His influence extends beyond the ACAC, as he has been recognized as a builder within the NAIT Athletic Department, the ACAC, and the CCAA. Gregg's legacy as a builder will endure long after his retirement, leaving an indelible mark on the institutions and athletes he has dedicated his career to serving.
