2023-2024 ACAC Men's Overall Rookie of the Year

Edmonton, AB (April 5, 2024) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Mahdi Ahmadi of The King's University Eagles as the 2023-2024 ACAC Overall Men's Rookie of the Year.

Mahdi, aged 20, is originally from Iran and has taken the ACAC by storm, showcasing his remarkable talent in the sport of Badminton. His accomplishments include securing first place in Men's Singles, along with two second place finishes in the same category. Additionally, Mahdi has achieved three first-place victories in Mixed Doubles, partnering once with Abby Ledda and twice with Khushi Vaniya.

The King's University takes great pride in Mahdi’s achievements, viewing him as a shining example of a student-athlete who works hard at his academics, as well as being dedicated to improving his skills on the court. In this inaugural year in the ACAC, Mahdi has proven his ability to adapt swiftly to various playing conditions and situations, displaying a strong work ethic and determination.

As we eagerly anticipate Mahdi’s future endeavors, there is no doubt that he will continue to impress and inspire both on and off the court. Please join us in congratulating Mahdi Ahmadi on being named the ACAC Male Rookie of the Year.
