2024 ACAC Men's Hockey Rookie of the Year

Edmonton, AB (March 21, 2024) –

Male Rookie of the Year | Ethan Leyer | NAIT Ooks:

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Ethan Leyer of the NAIT Ooks has been selected as the 2023-24 ACAC Men’s Hockey Rookie of the Year.

In a thrilling 24-game regular season, Leyer's performance has been nothing short of spectacular. He has amassed an impressive 25 points through 12 goals and 13 assists, placing him among the league's elite. He is tied for 7th in total points and ranked 5th for goals within the conference. His skill, determination, and contribution to the team's success have been nothing short of exceptional. As a rookie, he has already significantly impacted the team.

"Ethan was a pleasure to coach this year, and he made a positive impact on our team, both on and off the ice. Leyer loves being around the boys and having fun but is engaged and ready to work as soon as practice starts. Leyer played in all key situations and always seemed to find a way to chip in offensively when the team needed a spark. Ethan's speed, good character, coachability, humour and passion set him apart this season and I look forward to seeing what he can do in the future," said Head Coach Scott Fellnermayr.

The first-year Bachelor of Business Administration student from St. Albert, Alberta, has made an impact on the NAIT Ooks in a short time; he has a bright future.

Congratulations, Ethan!
