2024 ACAC Women's Hockey Coach of the Year

Edmonton, AB (March 14, 2024) –

Female Coach of the Year | Morgan Mann | Lakeland Rustlers:

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Morgan Mann of the Lakeland College Apex Automation Rustlers has been named the ACAC Women’s Hockey Coach of the Year.

This is the third year of women’s hockey at Lakeland and only the second in the ACAC. In their first season the Rustlers won the Alberta Female Hockey league championship and in year two finished the season with an ACAC Bronze.  This year the Rustlers finished the regular season in first place with a 21 – 4 record and won a hard-fought semifinal battle to move on to compete for ACAC Gold. The hockey program spends countless hours in the community coaching youth, volunteering to help charities and giving back to the community that funds the program. On top of success in competition and the community, the women’s hockey team had a collective GPA of 3.11 in the first semester.

“Coach Mann embodies what our athletics program is about, and his student athletes and staff are incredible ambassadors of Lakeland and our community of Lloydminster,” stated Alan Rogan director of athletics. “More importantly than winning games is the sense of family the team has. What Coach Mann and the entire group of volunteers have been able to do in a short period of time to make Rustlers women’s hockey a contender is amazing.”

This prestigious award will be recognized at game three of the 2024 ACAC Women’s Hockey Championship hosted by Lakeland Rustlers in Lloydminster, Alberta.
