2024 ACAC Men's Futsal Players of the Year

Edmonton, AB (March 9, 2024) – 

North Male Player of the Year | Cleisson Anklam | Keyaon Huskies:

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Cleisson Anklam of the Keyano College Huskies has been selected as the 2023-24 ACAC Men's Futsal North Division Player of the Year.  

Anklam led the way for the Men's Futsal Huskies, who went 10-0-0 in the 2024 regular season, outscoring their  opponents 37-18. He scored seven of his team's 37 goals in the regular season, including a two-goal performance in a 4-2 win against the Portage College Voyageurs on February 3, 2024.  

"That was long overdue," Head Coach Niels Slotboom said. "Clearly one of the top players in the country, not just in Alberta; not just in futsal, but soccer as well. It's nice to see the recognition of what he can do and how important he is to our program."

"All the props to him, he puts it together every single game now. I'm excited to see what this will do for his confidence and what that'll look like in soccer next year."  

Anklam, a product of São Luiz Gonzaga, Brazil, is currently studying Business Administration and has provided a leading presence to the Men's Soccer/Futsal program. He helped lead the Huskies to Gold on the Futsal court in 2023 and was a core piece in the Huskies' Championship run during the 2023 outdoor soccer season that saw  them place fourth in the entire country. He was recognized as a member of the ACAC Men's Soccer North Division All-Conference team for the 2023 outdoor season. Within the Huskies' program, Anklam was honoured as the  Men's Futsal Player of the Year at their annual awards in spring 2023.  

This prestigious award will be recognized at the 2024 ACAC Men's Futsal Championship hosted by Portage College in Lac La Biche, AB. 


South Male Player of the Year | Pedro Noschang | Olds Broncos:

The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Pedro Noschang of the Olds College Broncos has been selected as the 2023-24 ACAC South Men's Futsal Player of the Year, becoming the inaugural winner of the award. 

Noschang was an instrumental piece all over the court for the Broncos, scoring eight goals in nine matches spanning the two ACAC South Regional competitions while also maintaining a high standard of defensive play throughout the winter.

"Pedro is not only a talented student-athlete, he is also a great ambassador and representative of Broncos Athletics," said Trina Radcliffe, Athletics Manager at Olds College of Agriculture & Technology. "I am happy to see his dedication and commitment recognized with this award."

In his second season of eligibility with the Broncos, the Novo Hamburgo, BRA product is enrolled in the Business Management program at Olds College of Agriculture & Technology.

This prestigious award will be recognized at the 2024 ACAC Men's Futsal Championship hosted by Portage College in Lac La Biche, Alta.
