2023 ACAC Golf Coach of The Year

Edmonton, AB (September 29, 2023) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce that Tyler Leicht of the NAIT Ooks has been named the 2023 ACAC Golf Coach of the Year.

The NAIT Ooks golf team has returned to ACAC golf, marking the end of a hiatus since 2014. With this new chapter comes a fresh Head Coach, as Tyler Leicht assumes the position in his inaugural season as an ACAC Head Coach. While he may be new to this particular role, Leicht is far from a novice in the world of golf. In 2021, he passed the Professional Golf Association of Canada's Play Ability Test (PAT), solidifying his credentials. Furthermore, he serves as a Golf Professional at the esteemed Derrick Golf and Winter Club in Edmonton, AB. Tyler Leicht is now entering his 7th season at the Derrick Club and his third as a PGA of Canada Professional.

"NAIT Athletics would like to congratulate Tyler on this prestigious award in his first season. We are fortunate to have Tyler as our coach in NAIT's return to ACAC golf. His knowledge of the golf landscape in the Edmonton area and his familiarity with NAIT made Tyler the perfect candidate to lead our program this year. Tyler's attention to detail and ability to connect with his players make him the tremendous coach he is," said NAIT Athletics and Recreation Director Jordan Richey.

This prestigious award was recognized at the 2023 ACAC Golf Championship hosted at the Alberta Springs Golf Resort in Red Deer, Alberta.
