RDC’s Luke Brisbane Honoured as 2015-16 Konica Minolta ACAC Male Athlete of the Year
Edmonton, April 14, 2016 – The ACAC is pleased to announce that Red Deer College Volleyball Kings' setter Luke Brisbane has been selected as the ACAC Male Athlete of the Year across all sports for the second year in a row, generously sponsored by Konica Minolta.
The former Australian National Team member led the CCAA Champion Kings to a 23-1 record in ACAC play and a 3-0 mark at both the ACAC Championship and CCAA National Finals. The South Division All-Conference player was named the MVP at both the ACAC and CCAA Championships.
At six-foot-five Brisbane is a force at the net as well as a strong defensive player. His ability to see the floor makes him a premier setter and team leader. Despite several changes in the Kings lineup throughout the season Brisbane remained a constant in allowing any of the new players to easily slip into the lineup.
He led the South Division with 9.4 assists per set.
Off the court Brisbane, who was named the RDC Male Athlete of the Year for the second year in a row and will return next season, was as skilled in the classroom being named an Academic All-Canadian.
