Sean Borkovic, Concordia Thunder, Men's Curling

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Sean Borkovic earns the ACAC Men's Curling Player of the Week for his outstanding 2023-24 season. This recognition celebrates Borkovic's strategic skill and leadership at Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE).

Borkovic led CUE to victories in Regionals #1 (Lakeland College) with a 3-2 record and continued the success in Regionals #2 (NAIT) with another impressive 3-2 record. At the ACAC Championships at SAIT, his leadership contributed to CUE's 2-1 record and a silver medal in the gold match against the RDP Kings.

Apart from curling, Borkovic, a second-year Bachelor of Management student from St. Albert, AB, exemplifies commitment to academic excellence.

This accolade not only recognizes Borkovic's on-ice achievements but also highlights his commitment to academic and athletic excellence, making him a role model for aspiring student-athletes in men's curling.

Looking ahead, Blair and the Queens will represent the ACAC at the CCAA National Curling Championships in Fredericton, NB, from March 12-15.
