Ross Bishop, NAIT Ooks, Men's Volleyball
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Ross Bishop had an exceptional weekend with the NAIT Ooks men’s volleyball team during the ACAC Championships in Olds, Alberta. The Ooks, fueled by a determination to end a 47-year drought, showcased their readiness to compete.
Against all odds, the Ooks rallied together and delivered a formidable performance, clinching the ACAC gold and securing their ticket to the CCAA Nationals in Victoria.
Ross played a pivotal role in this triumph, standing out as a key player for the Ooks. He emerged as the top middle attacker in the tournament, amassing an impressive stat line of 33 kills, 19 blocks, and four aces, resulting in a remarkable 4.3 points per set. His contributions were instrumental in leading the Ooks to victory. Additionally, Ross's outstanding performance earned him a well-deserved spot on the All-Tournament team.
As a fifth-year Bachelor of Business Administration student, Ross is poised to continue playing a crucial role as the team gears up for the CCAA Nationals hosted by Camosun from March 7-10.
