In a triumphant display of athletic prowess, Makenna Fitzgerald of the SAIT Trojans secured her third consecutive CCAA women's individual national championship, etching her name firmly in the annals of CCAA Cross Country history. Makenna's stellar performance over the weekend showcased her unparalleled skill, marking a remarkable three-peat in the CCAA women's individual National wins.

Finishing 32 seconds ahead of her competitors, Makenna crossed the finish line with a time of 20:59, not only securing her victory but also shattering her own 6km CCAA record of 21:43. Makenna's relentless pursuit of excellence continues to redefine standards, notably breaking the 22-minute mark for the first time in 6km ACAC history for a female runner.

The CCAA Cross Country Running National Championships, hosted at Dalhousie Agricultural Campus in Atlantic Canada, marked a historic occasion after over a decade. Against the backdrop of the picturesque Victoria Park in Truro, athletes, coaches, and delegates from 38 teams experienced the warm hospitality of the Maritime region throughout the championship.

Makenna Fitzgerald's exceptional performance not only adds to her legacy but also reflects the dedication and skill that have made her a standout in the world of cross-country running.

Fitzgerald is a fourth-year student-athlete from Kamloops, BC and is enrolled in the Diagnoistic Medical Sonography program.
