Women's Volleyball Huskies earn third-straight sweep with topping of RDP Queens

The Keyano Huskies Women's Volleyball team earned their third-straight victory Friday night at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre in Fort McMurray, Alta., topping the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens in straight sets (25-19, 25-11, 25-14). 

"[It's] the first time Keyano Women's Volleyball has ever beaten Red Deer," Head Coach Hayden Nichol said. "A national powerhouse most years, they're always at the top, they're always in the rankings, so we came into this one saying we want this team to be the team; we want to make a statement here."

Tyneille Neufeld collected 10 kills to lead her side while Megan Polant racked up eight and Karlene Kaminski had seven to her statline. 

Rebecca Maxwell picked up three kills, also contributing 22 assists, seven digs, two aces, and five blocks. Polant led all Huskies in the dig department with nine. 

The Queens countered with Van Loos and Morgan Boisvert, who each had four kills in the match. Frankie Sandini led the visiting side with 17 digs while Danielle Wiens led her team with seven assists. 

Polant and Wiens earned Player of the Game honours for their repsective sides.
