NWP Wolves Host Lethbridge Kodiaks

Lethbridge Kodiaks open scoring, and the NWP quickly respond. Scoring is point for point and tied up at 5-5. Wolves pull away by 5 and gain the lead, score 10-5. Kodiaks coach Anna Schwark calls a time out.  Wolves continue to control the score board and score is 13-7 for NWP. Kodiaks fight back to get it within 2 points for a score of 15-13 for NWP. Kodiaks tie up the score at 16-16 and NWP calls a time out. Kodiaks start with the serve after the time out. Wolves claw back 2 points, but Kodiaks remain in the lead 23-18. A beautiful dig by Wolves #13 Alex Pullishy, but it's not enough to secure another point. Kodiaks take the first set 25-19.

Kodiaks has the first serve in the second set. A two-touches call on the Wolves gives Kodiaks the first point. Wolves answer back and #13 Alex Pullishy picks up the Wolves kill. Game is tied at 1-1. Points go back and fourth between the Wolves and the Kodiaks, and the game is back tied at 5-5. Wolves have the serve. Wolves build their lead 7-5. A couple of great rallies back and fourth between both teams. Wolves still lead 10-9. Kodiaks tie it up at 10 each. A nice serve by Kodiaks #8 Shane Fowlie gives Lethbridge another point. Wolves #10 Katie Nashim answers back with a perfect kill. Wolves #5 Robyn Alexandruk serves and a bad touch by the Kodiaks leads to another Wolves point. Wolves lead 12-11. Lethbridge answers back with a perfectly placed kill. The set is back tied 12-12. A couple nice back-to-back plays by the Kodiaks makes a 3-point lead. Wolves head coach Lauren Hale-Miller calls a time out. Kodiaks come back strong and secure another 2 back-to-back points. Lethbridge leads 19-14. Wolves break Lethbridge's point streak. Back-to-back ace serves for Wolves #16 Jessie Kurek. Kodiaks still lead 23-17. Wolves aren't giving up and get another 3-points. Kodiaks still lead 23-20. Lethbridge calls a time out. Wolves #11 Madison Chabot starts with the serve after the time out. Kodiaks take the second set 25-20.

Wolves take the point of the third set. Wolves pull away with a 2 point leave for a score of 5-3. Wolves and Kodiaks keep the game tight with back-and-forth scoring. Kodiaks tie it up at 9-9. Wolves take the lead with a score of 12-10. Wolves fight hard to keep their lead, but the Kodiaks keep tying it up, score is 15-15. Two touches is called and Lethbridge gains a point to take the lead. Time out is called by the Wolves as the Kodiak take a 3 point lead, score is 18-15. Another time out is called by NWP Coach Lauren Hale Miller, score is 20-15. Wolves fight back and tighten the scoring gap to 24-19 for Lethbridge. Kodiak takes the third set and win 25-19.
