Vikings Win Over Ooks

Friday night, the NAIT Ooks took on the Augustana Vikings in the NAIT gymnasium.
In the First Set, the Vikings took the lead early with some big blocks by number twelve however, the Ooks weren't out yet with some great blocks from number eight. The Ooks returned from a 5-point deficit tying the game up at 14-14. But the Vikings weren't done yet and took it back. The Ooks, in an attempt to gain some momentum, called a time, and it seemed to be working, with 17 going on a serving spree. The set was neck and neck the whole time, with the Ooks not letting up. The Ooks attempted to take back the set with a massive hit from seventeen Kayla Zazula, causing the Vikings to take a timeout. The Vikings took the Set 25-22.

In the second set, the Ooks took the lead early, winning some big rallies with some massive blocks from numbers twelve and eight. The Ooks held the Vikings at zero, putting the Vikings in a six-point deficit with some huge hits from Zazula. However, the Vikings aren't going away quietly with a perfect tip from number two. The Vikings gained some momentum clawing back from a 6-point deficit late in the set. but it wasn't enough as the Ooks took the set 25-17.

The Vikings took the lead early in the third set with a massive block from number twenty; however, the Ooks weren't going away with a block from number five Karly Burkinshaw. The set was neck and neck, with the Ook's momentum building coming back from a 4-point deficit. The Vikings weren't done yet though as they had a killer hit from number two, Hannah Kuhn. The Ooks, in an attempt to gain some momentum, call a time-out but the Vikings take the set 25-18.

The Vikings take the lead early in the fourth set with a massive block from number two Hannah Kuhn. The Ooks win an enormous rally with a great block by number five Karly Burkinshaw. The Ooks take the lead with an ace from number eight. But the Vikings aren't out yet, taking the lead back with a kill from number eight Shae Boyes and a perfectly placed tip from number one Brooke Mcbride. The Ooks fought hard to come back from a six-point deficit. Number eight Charlotte Vandenelzen with a tremendous down-the-line kill and Zazula with a nicely placed kill keeping the Ooks in the game. The Ooks have taken the lead late in the fourth set but not for long, with the Vikings taking it back with a massive kill from number two Hannah Kuhn. The Vikings won the fourth set 25-22. Taking the match 3-1.
