Wolves host the Thunder for a 2 game series

 

The first set is underway with Thunder taking the first point. Thunder keep it steady and secure 2 more points back to back. NWP Wolves answer back and get on the board. Wolves are in the grove now and secure 2 more point. The points go back and forth between both teams.

#13 Alex Pullishy finds the open space and ties the game up at 10-10. #10 Katie Nashin with perfect placement makes it 12-10 for the Wolves. Concordia call a time out with the score 14-10 for the Wolves. After the time out, the Wolves maintain momentum with a great rally but the rally will end with a point for Concordia. #10 Katie Nashim won't be stopped and secures another point making the score 16-13 for the Wolves. #6 for Concordia, Jolene Cooke with a nice kill for the Thunder. The Thunder tie the game at 16-16. Wolves don't give up their lead though as #10 Katie Nashim and #5 Robyn Alexandruk block Concordia and secure another point. #13 Alex Pullishy with the right touch places the ball in the open space. #3 Gracie Smith puts it down with a beautiful kill making it 19-17 for the Wolves. Concordia come back strong and tie the set 19-19. Set stays point for point until the Wolves pull away by 3 to take the first set. 25-22.

The second set begins with the Wolves taking first point. A net serve ties the game. Rising up for the kill #15 Lexis Ouellette. Too strong #13 Alex Pullishy gets the Wolves another point, it's 3-2 for the Wolves. #8 Aidan Armitage sets up #15 Lexis Ouellette for another beautiful kill. #3 Gracie Smith not once but twice for the Wolves, kills the ball to take the lead 8-6. Another kill for #13 Alexandra Pullishy and the Wolves are up by 4. The Thunder score 2 in a row and forces a Wolves timeout. The Wolves struggled on offense as the Thunder closed the gap to 2. 18-16 for the Wolves. Wolves would rally together and pull ahead by 4. Thunder responds with 4 straight points. 20-20. Wolves return the favor and put 3 straight on the board. Thunder calls a timeout. Wolves win the second set 25-21 and go ahead 2-0 in the match.

Third set is underway with Concordia starting with the serve. Concordia serve falls out of bounds, Wolves pick up the first point. #13 Alex Pullishy with the block! Wolves lead the set 2-1. A miss connection between the Wolves leads to Concordia taking the lead 3-2. Concordia turn up the heat and take the lead 7-6. #5 Robyn Alexandruk answers back with a beautiful kill for the Wolves. It's not enough though as Concordia keeps the pressure on and furthers their lead 11-9. #13 Alex Pullishy finishes the set with a powerful kill. The game is tied at 12-12. Concordia go on a point streak making the game 16-13. Wolves call a time out. Thunder continue to pull away with a 21-13 lead. Wolves struggled to get the offense to work and the Thunder are back in the set 24-16. Last point goes to the Thunder and they win the 3rd 25-16. Wolves lead 2-1, 4th set to come.

First point to the Wolves. Thunder tie it up. As the rally continues, Wolves continue to bring the pressure and lead the set 6-2. After an excellent rally, #15 Lexis Ouellette gets two back to back blocks and then a kill to end the rally. Another excellent rally by both teams ending with another point for the Wolves. Wolves call a time out after Concordia ties up the game at 7-7. The game continues to go back and fourth. Concordia take the lead with a couple nicely placed balls. They lead the set 12-9. A nice rally ends with another Concordia point, 13-9. An unsuccessful block by Concordia gives the ball back to the Wolves. A powerful kill by #3 Gracie Smith leads to another Wolves point. Wolves secure another point as Concordia spikes it out of bounds. A two-touches call against Concordia gives Wolves another point. Concordia still leads 15-13. Wolves fall further behind as Concordia secures a couple more points, 19-13. Wolves call another time-out. Wolves take the first point after the time-out. #15 Lexis Ouellette makes another incredible block.  The Thunder go on a run and go up on the Wolves by 6. Wolves could not respond and the Thunder go on to win the set by 9. 25-16 for the Thunder, match tied at 2.

5th set goes back and forth to 5. All knotted up at 5. Thunder take control and get ahead by 3, 9-6, when Wolves head coach Lauren Hale-Miller calls a timeout. Wolves lost the 5th 15-11 and the game 3:2.
