Wolves welcomed the Rustlers for their Home Opener

Season Home Opener for the NWP Wolves. They welcomed the Lakeland Rustlers to town for a pair of games.

Opening the scoring was the Rustlers, Wolves responded and tied the game at 1-1. The set stayed close until the Rustlers pulled away after 8 points. Head coach Lauren Hale-Miller called a timeout for the Wolves. Wolves received the serve back at 18-9 Lakeland. Lakeland would make a couple subs to end the set. Lakeland wins 25-14 and takes a 1-0 lead.

The Wolves opened the set with tough defense keeping the score close. Katie Nashim had a big kill to bring the Wolves within 2, 10-8 for Lakeland. After an incredible dig by the Wolves followed by a kill, the Wolves are within 1. Rustlers responded with a point and go up by 2. #9 Harshpreet Dhaliwal finds the open space and comes up with a big point for the Wolves, down by 2. Rustlers take a bigger lead, until #3 Gracie Smith has a huge kill to bring the Wolves back within 4. Momentum changed on a missed serve, Rustlers go up by 7, Lauren Hale-Miller calls a timeout. The 2nd set would end 25-14, Rustlers up 2-0.

Wolves opened the scoring with 2 great digs. Rustlers tipped one in take the lead. 9-3 Lakeland and NWP calls a timeout. The Rustlers offense is too much for the Wolves and the 3rd set ends 25-8 for the Rustlers. Lakeland wins 3-0.

Player of the Game for the NWP Wolves is #14 Gabrielle Capelle.

Both teams are back in action tomorrow at 1pm at NWP.
