Thunder Edge Eagles in Back and Forth Match

EDMONTON, AB (January 29, 2022) - The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder welcomed The King's University Eagles as they continued their weekend series Saturday night. After a long fought battle of splitting sets, your Concordia Thunder take the match in five sets 3-2.

The Eagles came out strong and took control of the first set early. After jumping to a quick lead, the King's Eagles never looked back as they took the first set 25-11.The second set began with back and forth action as the Thunder looked to find a spark and start a momentum against the Eagles. After a nail biter of a set, your Thunder proved to be too much as CUE took the second set 26-24. The next set started as a close set early with both teams exchanging points. The King's Eagles took a second half lead and ran with it, taking the third set 25-17.The fourth set was the longest of the match as both teams exchanged leads as the Thunder looked to extend their night. This created a tightly contested set, but the Thunder were able to take the set 25-23. Keeping that momentum, the Thunder fought point by point, winning the final set 16-14.

The One Team Sports players of the game were #7 Brooke Risselada for the King's Eagles and #8 Mykayla Ebel for Concordia Thunder.
