Red Deer Polytechnic Queens down Briercrest College Clippers in three sets

Red Deer, AB – The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens used a match high 13 kill performance from outside hitter Jaiden Ferguson to down the Briercrest College Clippers in three sets (25-17, 25-16 and 25-19).

North Star Sports Queens Player of the Game McKenna Olson totaled eight kills (0.700), two blocks, one assist and one ace out of the middle.

Julia Beer picked up the top player honour for the Clippers, totaling eight kills (0.300), five digs, one block and an ace. Reece Sorensen accumulated six kills and six digs for Briercrest. Jessica Zacharias totaled 15 assists and a pair of digs.

Ferguson (three aces) and Tess Pearman (three aces) had six of Red Deer Polytechnic's nine service aces. Setter Emma Letkeman had 37 assists, two digs, a block and one kill.

In addition to Beer's ace, Kelsey Wiebe (one) and Faith Buhler (one) added service aces for Briercrest College.

The Clippers (5-3) will be back in action on Friday, February 4 when they host the Ambrose University Lions (5-6).

On Thursday, February 3, the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens (12-0) will play the SAIT Trojans (4-7) at 6 pm in Calgary.
