Keyano Huskies 3  Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder 0  25-12, 25-20, 25-18

In this the home opener for 2019-2020, it was the debut of rookie Amber Francis and the 6- foot middle from Keswick,  Ontario did not disappoint as the Huskies swept the visitors 25-12, 25-20 and 25-18.

Francis had a run of about seven straight serves in the first set to give the nearly 300 fans in attendance a lot to cheer for as the home side went up 25-12.

Down 10-4 in the second set, the Thunder call timeout.

Huskies are hustling as three players hit the court in an attempt to pancake up the ball.

There were a few outstanding saves by Huskies libero Raisa Stokes (2nd year, Education, Fort McMurray Alberta).

Down 7-11 in set three, Huskies coach Kira Sutcliffe calls timeout for the team to regroup.

A Kally L'Heureux  (4th year, Nursing, Bonneyville Alberta) kill gives the Huskies a 14-13 lead...a lead they will not surrender.

Home Hardware/Boston Pizza Player of the Game is  Francis. Thunder POG is Kayla Whiteman Kyte.

Last year when the Huskies hit the net against the Thunder the series went 3 matches to 1 match in favour of the Huskies.

Thunder coach Erinn Jacula played for the Huskies (2004-2006).
