WVB | Kodiaks Fall the the Queens Once Again

February 9, 2019 - Kodiaks go head to head with Queens once again for their final home game of the year.

Kodiaks started out even with the Queens as they were ready for a come back but lost the momentum later in the game allowing the Queens to advance their score ten points ahead of the Kodiaks.

The Kodiaks outside hitter, Mack Lewicki produced five digs as she did not want to see any balls hit the floor however the Queens middle blocker, Sydney Rix continued to pour on the pressure earning herself five kills which helped her team win the first set with a score of 25-14.

The Queens continued to dominate the court  as they headed into the second set while the Kodiaks struggled to get a point for their team. This forced Lethbridge's head coach, Anna Schwark to call a time-out to regroup and strategize.

After a short time-out, the Kodiaks were able to even the score in set two. However, the Kodiaks were unable to maintain the momentum they just began to find as they dropped the second set to the Queens 25-13.

The Queens continued to control the match as they went into set three. Erin Neufeldt and Katrina Dawe of Red Deer both came out on attack, gaining themselves four kills each before closing out the game. Red Deer sweeps Lethbridge in three once again with a final score of 25-14.

The Lethbridge Kodiaks hit the road next weekend as they face the Olds Broncos. The Kodiaks look to end their season on a high note.
