Cheers were loud, fans were proud, Wolves split the weekend with the Vikings 1-1

Camrose, AB - After starting the game strong with a win in the first set, Augustana Vikings lost to the GPRC Wolves in a very close second set. The Wolves brought on the heat despite the cold outdoor temperatures and were on their game today, making the Vikings work for every point they earned. From the beginning, Wolves took the lead, Vikings scrambling to catch up but once they did, the plays were tight and the competition was at its peak.

The third set kept a tight score until halfway through the set when the Wolves pulled away, winning the set 25-14. Heading into the fourth, the score was nail biting, inching its way up point by point with a 1-3 point split each time. In the end the Wolves managed to pull out the win with a score of 28-26, taking the match and ending with a 3-1 split for the Wolves.

Taking home player of the game honours for the GPRC Wolves is #10, Karly Burkinshaw, with 7 kills, 5 digs, 5 blocks, and 2 service aces. #8, Shae Boyes of the Augustana Vikings took home player of the game honours with 11 kills, 12 digs, and 1 block.

It took some time for the fan engagement to begin but once the cheers started, the gym was filled with victorious cheers from both teams, fans and players alike. For an icy day in Camrose, fan turnout was impressive. Seeing much more that just students of Augustana in the stands, it is awesome to see local community members supporting our teams.

Worth a mention are the cutest 3-ball girls we have ever seen in our lives, the young ladies from Girl Guides of Canada, Camrose Branch. These girls are part of the first branch of Girl Guides to exist in Camrose.
