Rustlers defeat Wolves in 3 sets

The Lakeland Rustlers defeated the Grande Prairie Regional College Wolves in 3 sets (25-23, 25-15, 25-16) Friday night in the first of two matches against the Wolves this weekend. The two teams traded points to start the first set before the Wolves took a 15-12 lead. The Rustlers found themselves down numerous times in the set but fought back to tie it at 21. The Rustlers finished the set strong, winning 25-23. In the second set, the Rustlers took an 11-8 lead early. They continued their strong play to build an 18-11 lead. The Rustlers lead was too much for the Wolves to come back from, as the Rustlers won 25-15. The Rustlers continued their strong play from the second set to start the third and took an early 8-4 lead. The set was all Rustlers as they led 11-5 and 15-8 before going on to win 25-16. Player of the Game for the Rustlers was #4, Alyssa Grondin. Player of the Game for the Wolves was #1, Megan Koch.
