Ooks Defeat Wolves in Final Regular Season Game

On Sunday afternoon, the NAIT Ooks women's soccer team kicked off against the Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves in their final league game of the season. The Ooks won the game 2-1.

The first forty-five minutes of the game was close between the Ooks and the Wolves. Both teams had chances to score. However, the Ooks were able to capitalize by scoring first. Ooks number sixteen, Toni Burse, was able to score her team their first goal after receiving a great ball from number ten, Payton Boyne. The Wolves weren't giving up and powered through to get a shot on the Ooks' keeper, Kailey Harder. Harder wasn't letting the ball by her, keeping her team in the lead.

At halftime, the Ooks lead on the scoreboard 1-0.

Both teams were eager to score in the last forty-five minutes of play. The Ooks were the first team to score again, with number six, Lamisi Sirett, putting the ball past the Wolves keeper, Kasya Miller, after getting the ball from Ooks number nine, Rayna Hamieh. With a two-goal deficit, the Wolves were looking to make a comeback. Their offence pushed harder against the Ooks' defence. The Wolves capitalized on a direct kick taken by number seven, Medea Chiba, and she put the ball over the Ooks' defence and Harder into the net.

The Ooks held onto their lead to win the game 2-1 over the Wolves.

The players of the game were number four, Alana Mawhinney, from the Ooks and number four, Jessie Kurek, from the Wolves
