CALGARY, ALTA., (Oct. 17, 2021) - The SAIT Trojans women's soccer team is moving on.
The Trojans defeated the Medicine Hat College Rattlers 5-0 on Sunday afternoon in their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) South Division semifinal matchup played at SAIT's Cohos Commons Field. Next up for the Trojans is the South Division final, between the winner of Lethbridge College and Red Deer Polytechnic.
SAIT received the game-winning goal just seven minutes in when Meaghan Wiebe found the back of the net to put the home team up.
The score stayed that way until the second half when the Trojans scored four more goals - two off the boot of Nicole Charlton and solo markers from Kenzie Georgsen and Jordynn McPherson.
Georgsen was named SAIT's Player of the Game, while Ana Waurynchuk earned the honour for Medicine Hat College.
