Rattlers come all the way back to stun Broncos

On a beautiful fall afternoon with temperatures hitting 18C, the Medicine Hat College rattlers and Olds College Broncos heated up the pitch in ACAC Women's Soccer playoff action. The game pitted the 4th seeded Rattlers and the 5th seeded Broncos in a win or go home matchup. Thr Broncos opened the scoring in the 15th minute on a goal by Kassidy Kelly. Just 4 minutes later the Rattlers equalized when Emily Lafreniere banged a goal in. The broncos re-took the lead in the 26th minute on a goal by Felecia Rodney, who had a hattrick on the day. Medicine Hat equalized again when Shelby Bach scored in the 33rd minute. At the half, the teams were deadlocked at 2. Rodney, with her second goal in the 48th minute and her third in the 70th appeared to give the Broncos the edge they would need to close out the game. But not so fast!! Barbara Nascimento socred off a penalty kick in the 79th minute to pull one back for the rattlers. She scored again in the 84th minute to tie things up. Ana Waurynchuk completed the comeback for the Rattlers by potting the winner in the 89th minute for a stunning Rattlers win. Felecia Rodney, with 3 goals in the game, was the ACAC Player of the Game for the Broncos and Barabara Nascimento was named Player of the Game for the Rattlers. The loss ends the season for the Broncos, while the Rattlers will head to Calgary on Sunday to take on the SAIT Trojans.
