EDMONTON AB – In this Sunday's match, the Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder played host to the visiting Kings University Eagles. The Thunder edged the Eagles in a hard fought game with a final score of 5-1.

The Thunder opened up the scoring in the first minute of the game and kept the pressure on through most of the first half, but only managed to end the half with a score of 2-0. The Thunder scored a couple big goals in the second and the Eagles were unable to fight back against the strong Thunder defence. In the last 5 minutes of play, the shutout was broken with King's goal, which would be the last of the game, ending in a 5-1 win for the Thunder.

The Big Kahuna Players Of the Game for the visiting Eagles was #3 Danielle Irwin, and for the Thunder #14 Rebecca Laevell, who also ended up taking the ACAC most goals after today's match. The Eagles and the Thunder will be closing off their season next weekend.
