Opportunistic Queens defeat Lions

Alisha Coules showed that her leading the teams in goals this season (she came into the game having tallied 5 goals in 5 games) is no fluke, as she led her team, scoring 2 more today.  Bailey Richarde adding a late tally in the 74th minute, along with Coules two goals, beat the Ambrose Lions, 3-0.

The Lions had every chance to take control of this game as they pressed the Queens hard in the first half an hour.  In the 23rd minute alone the Lions put 3 shots on net as well as took multiple corner kicks, forcing goalkeeper Alethea Reimer to be sharp.

It wasn't long after these missed opportunities, the Queens would score.  In the 37th minute, Coules was extremely patient with the ball at her feet, taking the ball to the left side of goal and putting a strong strike past a diving Janelle Reimer.  Coules would again follow this effort up in the 43rd minute, as this time on the right side of the pitch she would drive her second past Reimer.

For her efforts Alisha would be recognized for Player of the Game and for the Lions, Kate Stacey was award the Player of the Game for her goal line clearance where she threw herself into the net to save a goal among other strong defensive plays as she led the Lions backline.
