LAC LA BICHE, Alta. - Match Day 2 did not have the hometown Portage College Voyageurs fair any better on the scoreboard versus another northern rival Keyano Huskies. However, Voyageur Head Coach Claude Bolton tried to focus on the task at hand, "It is always tough to lose, even more so by a 12-0 scoreline but we are trying to find key pieces - players that can play at this level and that will carry us in the future."
Keyano took the game directly to the defensive Voyageurs scoring early with Amber Deep burying two in the first 9 minutes of the opening frame. While the Huskies continued to press the Voyageurs continued to exhibit a will to fight.
Notably the game was a true family affair as Voyageurs' Brenda Robertson and Huskies Skylar Robertson, two sisters from Lac La Biche battled it out on the field.
PALYERS OF THE GAME:
Voyageurs - Stephanie Tracy
Huskies - Amber Deep
