Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference "To be Canada's premiere collegiate athletic conference by developing and inspiring leadership through excellence in academics, sport and citizenship"

Making History

History or should we say Her Story, was made today as that Keyano Huskies women's soccer team scored three goals to secure a 3-0 win against the visiting University of Alberta Augustana Vikings at Shell Place's SMS Equipment Stadium.

The margin of victory was the largest ever for the Huskies since joining the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC)   women's program in 2002-2003.

The three goals mark's the fifth time the Huskies have ever reached that total.

The previous four three-goal games, were all  home field victories against The Kings University Eagles in the years 2005, 2009, 2011 and last season.

The Huskies have yet, to date, score more than three goals in a ACAC match.

Huskies scored all three goals in the first half with credit going to Taylor Fraser Chaba (11:00), Maya Reid (36:00) and Blanca Palavecino (42;00).

Emma Jones earned the shutout stopping six shots.

Her counterpart Cassidy Newcombe repelled 17 Huskies shots on net.

Huskies' Player of the Game was Taylor Frazer-Chaba. Vikings' Player of the Game was Taylor Olson.
