Women's Soccer Continues To Roll Vs. Wolves

Women's Soccer Continues To Roll Vs. Wolves

EDMONTON, ALTA.- Ishimura's 60th-minute goal would prove to be the decider as the NAIT Ooks defeated the GPRC Wolves 4-1 in a Friday night showdown at Clareview Field.

Marissa Webb scored 9 minutes into the game to give the Ooks an early 1-0 lead. Webb's goal would be the only tally in the first half as the Ooks would head into halftime ahead by a narrow margin.

Yumi Ishimura scored in the 60th minute to put the Ooks up by two. Angela Vanderburg added another goal five minutes later to make it 3-0. Jayden Demchuk responded shortly after for the Wolves to bring them back to within two, but that would be all of the offense that GPRC would generate. Kaily Mohn would score in the 83rd minute for a final score of 4-1 in favour of the Ooks.

With her goal tonight, Kaily Mohn is tied for the league lead in goals with Olds College's Felicia Rodney, although she has played two fewer games. Mohn has played six games and managed to tally up 13 goals this season.

With tonight's win, NAIT now has a 6-0 record and leads the ACAC North Division, they will look to continue their success as they host the King's Eagles on October 13th at NAIT. The Wolves will faceoff against the Augustana Vikings tomorrow afternoon before heading back to Grande Prairie.
