Trojans move to 7-0 with win over Kodiaks

CALGARY, ALTA., (Sept. 30, 2018) — The SAIT Trojans women's soccer team were in unfamiliar territory on Sunday, but navigated their way through it to earn the win.

The Trojans allowed their first goal of the year, but responded with four unanswered of their own to beat the visiting Lethbridge College Kodiaks 4-1 in their Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) game played in Calgary.

"One of the things I liked about today is that after they scored, we didn't sit there and point fingers or panic," said Trojans head coach John Talerico. "I told them at halftime that their goal came about as a result of a collective mistake by our team, not just one person. We learned from it and moved on."

SAIT moves to 7-0 on the year. Lethbridge College moves to 3-3-1.

Autumn Schneider scored twice for the Trojans to be named her team's Player of the Game. Cheyanne Holland and Mataya Blakney added SAIT's other goals.

Jasmin Salmon was the lone goal scorer for the Kodiaks. Teammate Alisa Fallows earned her team's Player of the Game honour.
