Trojans outlast Ooks in penalty kicks to return to championship final

The SAIT Trojans are headed back to the Championship Final at the 2023 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Women's Futsal Championship following a 2-2 (4-3) win in penalty kicks against the NAIT Ooks Sunday at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre in Fort McMurray, Alta. 

Irelyn Spelt of the Ooks and Nicole Charlton of the Trojans had the only goals through regulation, sending the game into overtime. 

From there, Payton Boyne put the Ooks ahead in the first overtime half before Amy Fallows scored for the Trojans in the second overtime half to send the game to penalty kicks, with the Trojans coming out on the winning side to book their spot in the championship game. 

Fallows was named the Player of the Game for the Trojans while Sarah Moorji earned Player of the Game honours for the Ooks.
