Eagles take down Rattlers to open Women's Futsal Championship

The King's University Eagles topped the Medicine Hat College Rattlers by a 5-3 score to open the 2023 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Women's Futsal Championship at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre in Fort McMurray, Alta.
Michaella Freiha scored twice in the first half for the Eagles and Aimee Tiemstra scored twice in the second half for the home side in the match. Demaris Hodges also found the back of the net for the Eagles as part of their three-goal second half.
For the Rattlers, Maisa Rebello had their lone goal of the first half while Kadence Dulle-Goller and Alyssa Heidel scored in the second half for the third-seeded team from the South Division.
"It's a great feeling to get that first win," said Head Coach Tyler Graham. "We know that the job isn't done so we still have another game before we get to the knockout round."
Freiha took home Player of the Game honours for the Eagles while Dulle-Goller had the honours for the Rattlers.
